As GeoClub President, I organized an end of the year banquet for graduating seniors. We had dinner in downtown Sacramento and I surprised the seniors with cords to wear at graduation.

After an anonymous submission, I was awarded the Outstanding Senior Award by the Association for Women Geoscientists San Francisco Bay Area Chapter & the Peninsula Geological Society. The Spring Banquet was held at Hartley Conference Center at Stanford University. I was there with my grandparents, father, and brother. I was recognized along with four other women in the geosciences who were graduating from various colleges around the Bay. Two young ladies who were middle to high school aged were also awarded for their research in their fields.

Well, we finally got to go back into California Caverns safely. However a large part of the cave was still flooded, including our main sampling area. Since we could not get to our regular sampling area, we took water samples from this flooded walkway below and the exterior river (to compare to the previous stream samples).
